PREPARATION NOTES

International movements

The route is part of the detail. Bring origin, destination and the item information into the same conversation. Collection, packing, transport and documentation responsibilities should be clear before agreement.

01

Identify the route

Record collection and destination countries and areas, plus the item details. Do not assume a route is available until it is confirmed for the actual movement.

02

Assign the documentation tasks

Agree who supplies invoices, object descriptions, values, licences or other documents that may be required. Requirements depend on the goods and jurisdictions.

03

Separate the charges

Review transport, preparation, delivery and any excluded charges together. Taxes, duties, local fees and the party responsible for them should be addressed in the agreement.

04

Keep timing conditional

Collection, clearance and delivery depend on the actual arrangement and documents. A preferred date in a request is not a confirmed transit time.
