PREPARATION NOTES

Item dimensions.
Packed dimensions.

A small distinction that makes the shipment information more useful.

01

Record what you measured

Say whether the measurements describe the object itself or the outside of its current packaging. A frame or projecting part belongs in the relevant overall item measurement.

02

Use consistent units

The planner uses centimetres for dimensions and kilograms for known weights. Do not mix units in one entry. Leave an unknown weight empty rather than recording it as a measured zero.

03

Keep quantities clear

One entry can represent multiple identical items with the same dimensions and status. Separate items that need different measurements, descriptions or handling questions.

04

Let packing be assessed

The volume tool does not design a crate, assess fragile surfaces or specify protection. Preparation needs to be discussed for the actual object and route.
